You Take The Escalator - I'll Take The Stairs

Poetry By: Charlotte Jayne
Poetry

If you work hard enough - anything is possible. Don't just dream about it, make it happen. The harder the struggle, the more rewarding the benefits. Amazing things are possible when you take control :)

I'm jogging up those stairs

While I see that you can take it lightly

I'm panting and I'm aching

While you just smile politely.

"Escalators look hard work";

My sarcasm slightly showing

As I'm clinging the rails,

The aggravation's growing.

I'm getting tired with keeping up,

My patience wearing thin

I'm weighing up my options

And consider giving in.

I feel fatigued from climbing high

This work-loads never ending

But seeing you on easy street

Just makes the fight commended.

I know one day the cookie'll crumble

And that's the day that I'll laugh last

Your fickle facade will serve reminder;

- The tortoise never ran fast.
