I once passed a Hobo as I was walking along the beach promenade, he was sitting with head down and hands folded in front of him. I heard the words “DEAR LORD” as I passed himby. This picture always seem to stick in my mind and I was wondering what he prayed would it have been something like this……..

A Hobo in Prayer

by: Chiqui

Way down yonder in Capri
A Hobo was down on bended knee
I heard him say…
"Dear Lord…
I know you are up there somewhere in heaven
Please Lord teach me to count to one hundred and eleven."
"You see Lord," he continued to say
"I neither learnt to count or say the A, B, C
It was far nicer to play truant and climb a tree,
Now today I am grey and old
One is never to old to learn I am told."
"Maybe there is still a chance for me
Lord I am putting all my faith in thee."
"So Lord please teach me to read and write
Then I can read your Bible at night
I promised never again to climb another tree."
'Lord take my hand and lead me through my last few days
Please show me all the right and wrong ways
I no longer want to be a Hobo man
I just want to say…
Lord Jesus I am your fan!"
