Let the Music Play 1

"Susan's The Same but Different Poetry Challenge"(Mistress of Word Play)

Once upon a time some good years ago
You would sit in front of me your hair tied in a bow
Now I'm old, scratched and full of dust
I think of the times your hands would play me so full with lust
I'm black and white with a shell of Mahogany brown
If I had a face you would see my saddened frown
Now stuck away in an attic the name they call this place
Before everyone who passed me by said I had so much grace
When your ten fingers loved to me embrace
Brahms lullaby or was it the Sailor's Lament
The first piece you played on me the day that we met
As like me old did you grow
And had no one your ashes to throw
Now here in the attic you to found your place
Your picture upon this piano such a pretty face
Now in the soft evening summer breeze
You play me softly just as you please
Your lines and spaces you never forgot
Your fingers they still play like forget-me-nots
So you my friend you will always be
The favourite one who always played me.
