My Child of Far Away
So tender and frail my precious little one
Golden curls and eyes of blue
Can you hear my heart beating
As you lay here with your head upon my chest
You are my child of far away
Empty spaces of words and cry
Your tears telling me you are hurting inside
For hours you sit and stare into space
Are you lonely are you okay
Please share your secret like with teddy you do
I'll try to sort them out one by one
Sometimes when you scream and shout
I wish you knew I am really here for you
Your sweet giggles and laughter
Lights up this mothers heart
Is your land a happy place
Or is it just another land
Do you know that tomorrow is still to come
And yesterday was just another day
You not quite like the kiddies outside
But to me you perfect in every way
And now when you lay your tiny body to sleep
It is inside your head I wish I could peep
And dream with you those incredible dreams
When you awake at the dawning of day
You again can build bricks as high as you want
And when the clouds are banging their heads
I will hold you through these angry skies
Look Teddy there's a new rainbow for you and her
I would give anything if you could just for a moment
See the colours of hue through these eyes of mine
I love you so sweet child of mine
You will always be my precious child of far away
