"Haunted Night"

Poetry By: Christian Taylor

Here's an example to those that are new to the "Poetry Factor" competition! Here are the five words I am going to use... 'lust', 'dusk', 'garden', 'poetry', 'dream'.

The poem cannot be less an 8 lines, BUT no longer than 15. I can only use each word once and only one word can be used in one line.

Hopefully, this example helps! Enjoy!

"Haunted Nights"

By Christian Taylor

Staring out at the night of dusk,

Birds no longer sing for they sleep,

Awaken are the creatures of night,

For some people, night doesn't let a dream in,

Only an endless tale of a nightmare,

A garden of fears fester in the minds of the young,

One can only speak in poetry to a lullaby,

In hopes sleep will calm a restless soul,

Oh how I lust for the sight,

A sight for a mornings rays to come.

Hopefully, this is helpful to anyone that's never done "The Poetry Factor" before. Good luck to those that dare to try the competition! - Christian
