Poetry Challenge Winners!!!
I read a lot of really amazing poems, and I loved every one of them, but unfortunately, I only have three winners. I just want to say congrats to everyone else. It was a very close race!
First Place Winner!!!
Receiving: Advertised on my profile, reads on All Poems, a fan, and comments on All Poetry!
When Two Souls Collide
The preacher says you may kiss the bride
Your eager and clumsy you`ve lost all your pride
That's what happens when two souls collide
She's nine months pregnant due anytime
Your money is tight but it's worth every dime
That's what happens when two souls collide
It's two in the morning and you're feeding your son
Letting her sleep while for days you`ve got none
That's what happens when two souls collide
She stares in the mirror her hair has turned gray
You insist it don't matter you love her anyway
That's what happens when two souls collide
The doctors agree she's going to die
For six long months you never left her side
That's what happens when two souls collide
With old age upon you and now you have died
You're lay to rest by your beautiful wife's side
That's what happens when two souls collide
Now you're both joined again with angels you sing
Forever and ever to each other cling
That's what happens when two souls collide
Second Place Winner!!

A Child Died

I kneel before this child now
Her head I cradle close,
My tears do flow like rivers strong
My heart does ache and so

Why death should claim a one like this
Why innocence should die,
A life unlived I held so close
A child died today

No peaceful death no slipping off
A victim of man's wars,
Like thousands that do die toady
A child quiet lay

A dream was quenched a spark removed
A puzzle piece was lost,
is this what man does bring I cry
Then why God let him live
The tapestry of life I see
but only from one side,
God's mind I cannot understand
yet still I question why?

This child died of this I know
and not by God's own hand;
it was the cruel wars of man
that followed not His path
A child's life what care is that
a woman young or old,
A dozen or a thousand fall
yet still the wars go on
To kill, to rape, to steal and burn
to pillage as they go,
so soldiers in the game of war
do move like players pawns

Oh when, I cry - will man now learn
that such will bring but pain,
to reach these men - my life must live
to turn them from their ways
Unless we take a stand and fight
these deaths will always be
The clock I hear it's ticking loud,
Time - it never waits!
Third Place Winner!
Receiving: Reads on five poems of your choice, a fan, and comments on the five chosen poems!
My memory vague
Sprawled on the floor
Clothes torn
Puddles of...
Deep red blood,
I can't stand blood
Her glassy hopeful eyes...
Lost its beautiful shine
Within each passing moment
Her life would drain away
I want to scream,
"Who killed me?"
In my final hour…
To my hand
I see a knife
Stained with my blood…
I killed me
Once more, congrats to everyone! And congrats to the winners! Please be patient receiving your prizes; school has started and I am swamped. I will do my best to make time!
