Sadness looms, ever deadening
Like spilt blood, body reddening
These feelings inside of us
Covering, layering like dust
A moment gone, come again
Will be welcomed like an old friend
Tears shed for such a loss
Our hearts will accept the cost
Fear and aguish
Our minds diminish
'We' are finished
But 'I' begin
I will mourn the loss of my friend
Many joyful times for me
Now only faded memories
Years lost but never forgotten
Time I will never have again
As warm, as inviting as a scent
One which I hold with no regret
And so, the time will come and then
I will go to meet my friend
One last time, 'our' memory
Will live again
We'll be friends for Eternity
