When I was born I weighed just 2 pound

Not one piece of clothing fit me, which the hospital found

I was the most fragile, tiny baby

The doctors told my parents, that me surviving was a absolute maybe

I was just the size of my daddy's hand

Far away from the perfect healthy baby, my mum had planned

Tubes coming out of me everywhere

That's when my parents named me Claire

The rest of my family couldn't see me

So they were just left with pictures in their head of how I should be

The doctors said, I put up a fight

But sadly on one awful night

I had to have an emergency operation, my heart struggled beating

My parents couldn't come in, they were left at some seating

They knew I might not pull through

My mum cried lots saying "what would I do without you"

But I beat what the doctors told

Later that week my mum got to hold

The happiest day my parents had ever seen

But now I'm a happy healthy teen

To tell my story and what I mean

Don't give up hope or listen to what people say

Because them doctors said, that i wouldn't be here today
