I was standing on a gravel road with someone last weekend.
Unfortunately in my mind, it is never just simply standing on a gravel road.
Azafran, safranum and zafferano are all relative to Saffron.

I soundly slept in a lush grove by the sea
A short clip from an award winning scene
Generously rain fell prior to stash flowering
Boosting the Saffron yield in a bed rising

A stock pillow of distinctive aroma gathers
Skin perfumed in lazy circles with his fingers
Infused in spanish rice, hot baths and sweet teas
My cots charismatic harvest is blanketed by me

Merchant copper wrists whisk ointment so divine
Hand my courtesan vessel robe and fragrant wine
Audiences of angels strum harps from
Cilicia
Vertical leaves sail on a Genoan Ship gardenia

Bathing in the curative sea by my brandy bloom loft
Imperially twelve cranes dance in safranum red soft
Gathering fibers they influence an impulsive oiling
Azafran stigmas spider from beaks like lightening

Crimson shepherd’s tongue whistles to the sheep
And audibly I awoke from a spicy fresco sleep
Slinking into my maroon hued charcoal sketching
We were literally and simply spiritually standing,

on a lost gravel road of zafferano delusion
I love when my heart optimizes my vision
Calloused heals on a country road took us home
Sunshine’d on bare shoulders singing Shalom

H-E-A-V-Y.

A mind that never sleeps, a mind of the lonesome traveller wending, whirling, scents and colours and visions of wonder - you Peach, your essence. I am in love!

I'm thrilled with your epistle.
Simply thrilled.
Thank you, again, so very much Anna Therese.

Wow, senory fulfillment. It's like a magickal dream. Reminds me of the colorization used in 'What Dreams May Come'. Beautiful, and juicy, like a peach.

Wellllll.....I believe what I was trying to say is...(blows trumpet)...I was so entirely comfortable on this road that I lost all touch with reality. Ever been that comfortable with someone? Gosh, this is so wonderful I feel like I'm laying on a bed of flowers, make it saffron, saffron likes heat...and it was really hot that day just after an incredible storm. Imagine every beautiful possibility that could behold your eyes, all because you are living a moment that you love. Even, if only, you are on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. But, through my eyes...we were banked near an ocean with all the delights I could possible ask for. Imagining a rich dance or a ritual cranes would do, to make the bed a sanctuary.

I'm a cheap date Katie.
ha!

ahhhhhhhhh, yes, yes, ok, the millions of possibilities that open up when you 'step inside' the moment ^_^
oh but still to be able to put it all into such a bounty of words, and WOW! well then I won't try to decipher I'll just enjoy ^_^
haha, thanks sweetie :)

Thank you!

My heart was beating really fast by the time I got to the last line; you took me on a spiritual ride there, Classy! I imagined you standing there next to 'him' and you were looking back or forward at a vision. Something that happened or something you're imagining to happen. I don't know, maybe I should read it again? lol I think I should, you're SO deep woman that I can't even see a damn light in here! :P ~ Nixie

singing SHALOM....OH my GOD, this is "OUT OF THIS WORLD"

I wish I had someone like the lover described here....and i wish we could have connected on a spiritual level as well....

BUT GOD KNOWS THE BEST....

Hi Pratibha! Ok....here we go...this poem actually speaks of MY OWN way in life. Finding what makes me happy. Being happy with what is being offered and you know what? I was simply standing on a gravel road with someone and feeling so free with myself at that moment, the view from my eyes turned into the above poem.

Shalom Pratibha!
And thank you so very much.

every line a sheer joy , i could sit looking into your eyes for hour upon hour just trying to read your mind , such beauty flows from it .

Now Peachy... thats true poetry. carefully crafted words. Each word spawning thousand images... each image churning multiple realities.

A very honest feedback. I fell for this piece.

Thank you so much Balaji.

Hey Peach :) As always, you don't disappoint. You have a way of injecting so much life into seemingly small instances and this really breathes depth and atmosphere into your writing. This one, especially, really says a lot about how you think and how you perceive the world. No small task.

I remember when I read your writings for the first time and I was floored. Like then, I am still floored. Your descriptive talents and amazing uses of wordings and phrasings really make this one shine. My favorite stanza:

Crimson shepherd’s tongue whistles to the sheep
And audibly I awoke from a spicy fresco sleep
Slinking into my maroon hued charcoal sketching
We were literally and simply spiritually standing,

'Nuff said. Take care Peach.

Thank you so much Regan. You write an incredible review on some fairly heavy poetry here.

WOW!! I remember walking down that road about twenty-five years ago!!! Thanks for the memory...

Another breathtaking visual, Peach.

Peace and love.....Jerry

I keep reading this - this must be the hundredth time. Every time, it transports me to a world of swirling colors and magic. I am yet to find words to talk about this. Some day, I hope to. Write on, you talented witch!

The witch rests!
Or, she has not a thing to write about anymore.

Thank you so very much Urja, your beauty shines even in a couple of sentences.

'- Did you know that standing on a barren cliff on a windy day, you can transport yourself to any place, any time that you want?'

I found this, just a single sentence, in my diary, written many years ago. Your poem keeps reminding me of how I felt at that moment.

I think I am going to keep leaving these multiple little commentlets every now and then for this piece. For me, it is simply too beautiful to be dissected.

You are probably fast asleep in dreamland as I type this reply! I absolutely know exactly what you are speaking of. This poem, written shortly after this opportunity was given to me in life (a simple walk on a simple road with someone), has over the last few weeks really taken it's toll on my emotions! That freedom, desire and feeling of "being home" is truly powerful! It took away the worst of earthly emotions and the sun shone on me with true grace. For you, and all your life accomplishments, decisions and future, I'm most certain this would strike a melodic chord in you. When you have a handful of seeds, which little birdies will revel in the contact with you and nibble!???

Thank you so much Urja.

I worship the imagery! Saffron- copper--the glory jewels and silks of India is what it reminded me of. I saw a travel show once that went to India and the steam from the food and perfumes were visible in the air! I thought of that vision as I read it! Loved it!!

Have you read my poem Red Sea? I think that would be right up your alley too.

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments Penny. Steams and perfumes are certainly enticing in writing. Thank you.

If I could fly away~it would be into one of your poems Classy! ~so much sensory stimulai...wonderful, I missed your poetry so much, and what a poem to delve into first!

I love traveling the world through your poems; I think like Urja I shall be back; you're poems usually are so deep I ponder them long after~ mulling them over, they bloom in my mind... ;)
