This poem makes me think of a scene of ritualistic human sacrifice. The eyes are an audience to the "victor" on top of a pyramid, who is about to be united with his god through his sacrifice. Very existential stuff. The soul of man will certainly always be a mystery.

yes!..this is really good, and I imagine parts of this as a man who 'casts no shadow' because his soul has disappeared, yet not limited to just one man...I like the ending;) (Eliza really hits it on the dot with her comment-I can agree with her)

Splendid! I love it overall, specially the structure that resembles a question mark or perhaps it looks like number three. Anyway, ambiguity has endless interpretations and each one is equally right and wrong. For me this poem is about vagueness, uncertainty, about the "possibility of possibilities",
....GREAT POEM... As Eliza mentions ritualistic human sacrifice, we must remember that this destruction of the individual is done for supposed collective welfare, this is a way of pleasing gods/goddesses of fertility and on archetypical level it is also a symbol of transition and renewal.(ah! i am rambling again)
Excellent poem and very, very thought provoking...

I thought it was a requiem to the stars in the sky.
Or two signs meeting. Like a scorpion and a Libra that meet in the clouds.

Codey, when you write things that have more than one layer of meaning, your brain is multi-layered without your realization. Not many people Codey.
You do not realize the power of your writing yet.
Nor do you realize that you are multi-layered brain.
I would bet that all of your writing has more than what the literal meaning is. You probably write literally and not realize the several messages.
