Clouds threatening overhead
wet figures marching
silently chattering.
Black cars without speed
I kissed her chapped lips
ran my finger tips
through her hair.
Tears held tight fell,
fell while I cried.
Now, no suffering,
now no fear.
Just pebbles on the strand
and the seas coming in.
