The Little White Pills

Poetry By: Coralie

As much as I'd hate to admit it, I've attempted (in my past) to drown out the world by succumbing to pain killers.

Little white pills,
Telling me what to feel
Blurring the borderline
Between what is fake and what is real.

Little white pills,
Controlling my mind
Lying flat on the floor,
Shaking, shivering,
Cold and blind.

Little white pills,
Taking over me,
I can't stand any of this;
This is not the way I thought my life would be.

Little white pills,
The only way to go on,
But as my relationships dwindle,
I realize it's because of them
That everyone's gone.

Little white pills,
My only way to survive,
Pushing the pain away,
They keep me sane.
But just because I'm breathing
Doesn't mean that I'm alive.
