A poem remembering a sweet summer romance that didn't last.

Summer days

Moments stolen away

Sun-kissed skin

Memories set on replay.

Soundtrack of our lives

Carving initials in trees

With rusty pocket knives

Laughing as we dodged around

The hyper-active bee hives

Innocent words

Promises never to forget

Eternak love was sworn

As the gentle sun would set.

Kisses sweeter than the heavens above

We both truly believed

That this was love

As the days grew colder

We got older

We began to move on

and our sweet nothings

Were already gone.
