I picked up a penny

from under a ladder,

"heads" the copper read.

Birds begin to sing,

the sun is born again,

both nestle me to bed.

The roosters crow the morning,

cows come home at night,

politics still lie.

Once I tied your laces,

I learned: this is how one feels

in others shoes.
