UntiltThe Record Stops
The night and floor is almost over and I still want dance my love,
the records going and my blood is flowing as this music haunts my heart.
I know your momma use to say back then don’t dance with those "lover boys",
I promise girl that I’m all grown up so come on and take my hand and let’s dance
The air grows colder and the stars grow older in this mild Jersey sky,
I want to know if you would want to dance with me tonight.
Our hearts are racing but our lives are aging can’t let time pass us by,
these legs haven’t dance in years so let’s give them a try
So play that record until it stops,
until our youth is over and we are done.
Because these moments don’t last for long,
so be a menace kid on that dance floor
And girl hurry up,
no more lonely songs tonight.
Put those dancing shoes on,
and let the record judge what’s right.
