I gaze into a distant meadow and sure enough, there was a mocking bird,
It flew high in the air, swooped into a branch, and fell down onto the ground,
The last inches of its life seeping out of its fragile body,
I love nature, I love to write, I love the soft warm hug of your parent when you’re in fright,
I love the way my boy friend kisses my neck, and my whole body shivers with excitement,
I don’t intend on letting him in my pants just yet though, not until I’m old enough,
You see a child crying in pain, I see a lesson gained.
You see a heavy downpour of rain, I see a thousand of my tears I’m crying.
You see me saying, “I’m sorry.” I say you should have been the one apologizing!
