Booksie was for writing
Not for love nor fighting
Nor conversations mild
Nor disputations wild
Now bitter or candied
Opinions are bandied
Drop quills and oil and soot
A sea change is afoot
Fancy that -
Booksie chat.
Come have a moan or whine
Don't forget your star-sign
Forget your babbling brook
Get me on your Facebook
Don't be an also-ran
Collect fan after fan
Don't even read their works
That's for book-worms and jerks
Fancy that -
Booksie chat.
We scratch each others backs
We're not like the old hacks
Who wrote a thing or two
Before the howdy-do
Then came here for the buzz
And critics help it was
How they wrote stuff better
Now we want a natter
Fancy that -
Booksie chat.
We while away the hours
Avoiding April showers
We'd rather see unrest
Than sunrise or sunset
Or make virtual friends
Who don't need our amends
When we type something wrong
Denial move along
Fancy that -
Booksie chat.
You don't know who I am
So why not send me SPAM
Invite me to read you
Provoke all with speed too
You may not care to know
That I can't read and no
Way that I will listen
To your criticism
Fancy that -
Booksie chat.
Please read between each line
Opinions are not mine
A counterpoint is made
Come in out of the shade
Allow us to share light
Not one of us is right
To rubbish or defend
I fear I may offend
Booksie chat?
Bugger that!
You read my humble truth
Neither shy nor aloof
Here may not be as sweet
No longer nice and neat
And be ye foe or friend
Hope Booksie's on the mend
Your input I entreat
Do not vote with your feet
