A single day, a single night
A frozen core, despite the light
Of two whole seasons for my body to gleam
Then suffering two to never be seen
I wait in patience, for the dawn to come
For the basking warmth of a rising sun
To set me free, and trickle away
In the ocean of dreams, where the wind would say
‘Dear Sydney beckons, the Sahara begs’
For you to stand where no man treads,
and bring life and joy to this desolate place’
And so here I sit, gazing to space
Awaiting the light, for the dawn to come
Locked in the dream of a rising sun
But year after year, can the dream barely start
For the sun can’t thaw, a frozen heart
