a poem about the confused feelings of a bystander that found someone hanging in their room.

she's like a doll. so still.
more like a marionette, i guess.
you know, those ones with the strings?
at least now she can rest.
she should have reconsidered,
but i guess it's for the best,
if she was so determined
to put gravity to the test.

it just so isn't like her.
she was much more strong.
i suppose you need a strong will,
as the preparation takes so long.
learning the knot and everything
when you know it's wrong.
to exit with your chin up
and sing your final song.

i could have stopped her.
was it set in stone?
if i had been with her
would she have felt so alone?
if i had just hung out with her,
or chatted over the phone,
would she be here
or would i speak after the tone?

god, i'm such an idiot,
how did i not see?!
i was so selfish
and she really needed me!
and why am i so angry?
i should be sobbing, on my knees!
i feel so confused.
is this how it's meant to be?

i know that some of my poems are quite harrowing and dark, and i honestly don't wish to upset or distress anyone. i am just drawing on past experiences and find an outlet for my emotions through poetry. i know some of my stuff is lighthearted, and i even made an erotic piece! my feelings are just all over the place at the moment, and i feel at eas when writing, no matter what the subject is. thank you for reading this, it means a lot to me ^_^
