The twinkling stars in the darkness of the sky
Whisper streams of promises
To my listening ears
Promises that I know
Will never be fulfilled
The snow flower falls in heavy drifts around me
Surrounding me with glacial beauty
Never to be touched
Sometimes
I just want to listen to those promises
Believe that they could come true
I want to touch that glacial beauty
Release the beauty from the bitter ice
Sometimes
I just want to believe in the impossible
Believe what the stars whisper upon my ears
Try to touch the untouchables
And yet
I stand immobile listening to those promises
Lie paralyzed in the bitter beauty
As warm tears fall down my face
Only to freeze in the ruthless cold
As those promises will never reach my heart
Empty words they will remain
Snow flowers that cover me with an icy blanket
Beckoning me to an everlasting dream
Of eternal beauty
And promises yet to come.
