IT DOESN'T MATTER
It doesn't matter
what you do for a living.
Just tell me
what you ache for,
and
if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.
Your soul mate,
the everlasting love,
It doesn't matter
age is just a number,
And would you risk looking like a fool
for love, for your dreams,
for the happiness.
It doesn't matter
what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched
the center of your own sorrow,
if you have been opened by life's betrayals
or have become shriveled and closed
from fear of further pain.
Tell me if you can sit with pain,
mine or your own,
without moving to hide it
or fade it or fix it.
Tell me
if you can
smile for me in difficult times
if you can
let the ecstasy
fill your soul
and heart without cautioning us
to be careful, be realistic,
remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn't matter
if you are tell me the truth
tell me if you can disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
Tell me
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray another
If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
Please tell me
if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty every day,
and if you can stand by me every day
till my dying day,
tell me if you can live with failure,
yours and mine,
and still stand at the edge of river Nile
and call for success,
It doesn't matter
where you live,
how much money you got,
Just tell me
if you can get up after the night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised,
and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn't matter
who you know
or how you came to be here.
Just tell me
if you will stand
in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't matter where or what
or with whom you have studied.
Tell me what sustains you from the inside
when all else falls away.
Please tell me
if you can be alone with yourself,
When am not in this world,
keeping and controlling your emotions
raising the children on your own,
