We would go out and roller skate
We would have a blast
We loved each other
We were sisters
Sisters to the end
I taught you how to swim
And you taught me how to be strong
I will stay strong through whatever
Because that is what you did
You were my younger sister
But I look up to you to this day
You always wanted to come up to me to see how close you were to being as tall as me
When you were up to my nose you were so excited
You would always make fun of me because I couldn’t hoola hoop and you could
You went up on that stage and hoolo hooped your big heart out
Even when the music stopped and the guy came up with the microphone
You still wouldn’t stop
You called that bald doctor baldy
He was your second doctor remember?
Do you remember your first?
Of course you do
When he came in your hospital room you would light up
But when your second doctor came in you wouldn’t even smile
Your second comes in and you just point to the door
Back then you never wanted to talk
Because of that traic
And because of that retainer
You had a feeding tube
You lost an eye
But you kept standing strong
You kept standing strong
Even when that second doctor told us you had only 3 hours left to live
At 10 years old you were in a coma
That doctor said 3 hours
You lasted for 5 days
I still remember that last breath
I still remember that time, 10:05
I had to say goodbye to you
But it is never goodbye
Maybe I should have known that
But I will remember that goodbye
Because it is the worst goodbye I had to say
The hardest to say
It was hard because you’re my world
You’re my heart
You’re my sister
Forever and Always,
My sister
