The clock ticks, time goes by so slowly.
Tick tock this is wrong, tick tock waiting.
I hold the rose he sent me to my nose,
Fresh sweet, in the background tick tock.
I look up at the clock one minute to go.
I tuck the rose behind my ear, pretty feminine,
Tick tock this is wrong, tick tock waiting.
My stomach starts fluttering I lick my lips,
He enters the room and my heart swells.
I quickly look around the room, all clear no one we know.
Tick tock he walks towards me tick tock anticipation.
He sits down beside me and puts his hand in mine,
Staring into each other's eyes, I love you.
Things will change I promise, I'll leave her soon.
Tick tock times running out tick tock
He looks at the clock times speeding up,
He gently presses his lips to mine tick tock.
I have to go she will get suspicious,
Same time next week? I love you so much.
He leaves the room rubbing the lipstick off his lips.
He's going to leave her soon, my heart lightens.
Tick tock time slows down, tick tock anticipation,
I feel free and happy, only for a little longer.
I leave the caffe smiling, whistling a tune,
I shoot a look back at the clock, tick tock smiling.
