The Floating World

Poetry By: CZR
Memoir

We are all dreamers, drifting through an eternal sea. Through fickle weathers and uncertain tides, we sometimes sink under the weight of life and unfulfilled dreams. Perhaps, we will find hope someday.

He floats in the sea.

Neither Sinking nor resting,

Surrounded by many others like him.

Their eyes fixated skywards;

Through Violent storms,

And Hottest Sun,

Staring at blue skies,

And starry Night.

They are carried by the current,

Brought forth by fate.

He knows his destiny,

But he could not stop

the endless waves

that pushed him further

And further away

Till he found himself one day,

Left alone in waters,

So Foreign and Strange.

Oh how He despaired.

Lost in the vast marine expense,

Away from Humanity,

Unbeknownst to all.

Slowly, as days become months

And months become years,

he finds it harder to stay afloat.

Everyday and every night,

The Water pulls him ever deeper.

He struggles and struggles

But to no avail.

He is sucked down to its crushing depths,

Where he breathe his last,

Finding peace...

On the Ocean floor.
