Falling
Walking down a narrow path,
I come to a fork in the road.
One way will keep me safe,
One will not.
Question lies right there:
Which way should I go?
I take to the left.
It looks daring,
Threatening almost.
I liked it.
But then I fell.
And I kept sinking.
I fell into quick sand,
Fallen to my death.
Out of nowhere,
A rope appears above.
It looks like a stronghold,
So I decided to grab on.
I pulled up slowly,
And finally, I was out.
I turned and ran
Back down the path.
So that, I, may take the right.
Down that path,
I was more careful.
Going light with each step.
The ground was solid
All the way;
The world lighted
More on this path than
The one before.
I was safe on solid ground;
There was no quick sand to fall into,
But only many ropes in case I trip
Along the path.
