Sweet Memory

On the porch she sat,
her head leaning back.
The rain had passed.
In the warmth of the sunset
her eyes fluttered shut.
Smiling at the sky she thought back.

He had been her age.
Oh! How the years had flown,
but where had they gone?

Though now they hardly ever talk,
his smile makes her day.
She wanders if he knows,
if she still makes him smile.

Long lost friends,
the ghost of him.

She feels the sun,
its gentle warmth,
and knows that memories,
will never fade.
