I wrote this poem when I thought I was going to loose my grnadmother to lung cancer. God graced her and gave her another year and now she is blessed to watch and see me Fulfill my dreams.

The end of the Rainbow

As you and I

Walk hand and hand
We both think back,

Thinking back to the memories we shared,

Back to the nights we stayed up late
Laughing until tears were in our eyes.

Now time is drawing near

As we journey along
This thing called life.
One day
When that time comes
The moment we both
Pressed far from our minds,
The day that we would
Walk down different paths
When we reach the end of the rainbow.

However, I bare the thought

Of loosing the best friend I ever had,
But when that time comes
For us to be apart
We will look into each other’s eyes
As we wipe the tears from
Each other’s faces,
When we reach, the end of the rainbow.

I hate to let go

I want to hold you forever,
But I know that I cannot
Because it was not meant to be.
At last, we have come to the place
Were life has chosen our different paths
I will never forget you,

You will always have a special place

Reserved in my heart,

Yet though we stand at the end of the rainbow,
I will capture your last glance
And hold it close in my heart

At the end of the rainbow.
