The Long Wait by Dashez

Poetry By: Dashez

Waiting for the one you love may be painful, but if if the love is true, then nothing can stop you from being bonded with them, not people, not distance, not even time, because the power of love is such that it can overcome every other power that exists in this world.

This poem is inspired from the time I waited long for my sister to get back home. Enjoy!

I pace up and down,

Check the clock and frown

And drum on the crate

as I wait.

The clock ticks slow

My patience runs low

But I do what I hate-

I wait.

"Pal, is it time yet?"

I ask as I fret.

And he says "No mate!"

so I wait.

The sun has set

And the birds have left

It's gotten very late

but I wait.

Then I hear the whistle blow

And I see the train slow,

My heart is overjoyed

while I wait.

She rushes down to me

Looking happy as can be

And I know it was sure

worth the wait!
