The Horse of Jade

Poetry By: DaughterofDin

I wonder if anyone can guess what horse I am talking about. She will be in one of my series, so enjoy!

Through the dancing wave of grass

Sounds the steady stream of tracks

Play the song and she will come

Whether you sing it or hum

The melody composed by the departed mother

You will find the call is known by no other

The song you will learn by the fair ranch girl

The sound more beautiful than the shiniest pearl

The horse born by an angel and a devil

Who will be proud even when in dishevel

Whose mane is a gorgeous wave of silver

A horse who makes others quiver

The one that none can claim

The stubborn free spirit none could tame

The one who can cross the haunted sand

The one who thunders across the land

The proud horse of Jade
