The Oak Tree's Love Story

Poetry By: DavidLovesToWrite
Poetry

Lovingly caressed by a nameless lover year after year, she waits to feel his touch once again. Didn't think a tree could be passionate, did you?

Dappled sunlight shines through the leaves. Calm and resolute, the powerful ancient watches over it's territory. For years she has stood strong, enduring the seasons, basking in the shining brilliance. What is another day to this aged giant? What aspirations belong to this graceful stoic?

She watches me without judgement, a smile fixed upon her many faces. Winter comes, a friend that is more. The cool air will be the arms that hold her close as she sheds her clothes. Her gentle lover year after year, he waits patiently. The icy breath makes her gasp in rapture as they entangle once again. Onlookers misunderstand, they do not see the truth that is their lovemaking. Two lovers without shame, how jealous I am of the commitment they share.
