America Isn't Lonely

Poetry By: Defiance

Another school assignment thing for some contest. This year we had to take a proverb and relate it to America somehow. I decided to do a poem because it's the shorter, easier way and I'm just lazy like that. Plus, I imagined it would be pretty if I wrote it as a poem. This is also a rough draft, so yeah. Probably not all that great.

A friend who shares
Is a friend who cares.
Similar to when
A friend in need,
Is a friend indeed.
But friends don't have to share
With other friends.
Friends can share with strangers,
They can care without the "dangers".
Generosity touches everyone,
Like the rays beaming from the sun.
In the USA,
Something happens every day.
And for someone, it's not very fortunate.
In fact, it can be very unfortunate.
Something can be gone like magic,
And become very tragic.
Whether it's a hurricane in the south,
That left your home trashed.
Or an economic problem,
That caused the stock market to crash.
But not everything has to end,
Without the help of a friend.
America is the most united country on the planet,
Trust me, it's written in granite.
Where would you think the "united" comes from in the United States of America?
The citizens of America suffer with each other,
They cry with each other,
And they scream with each other.
But they do whatever they can for one another.
Whether it's a few dollars,
Or a whole house mounted on a hauler.
We're here for you,
No matter what we have to do.
