How the years went by
How the “one day in the life”
Ended so abruptly.
The Gulag was his baby;
his savior and his devil
His mind was the line
he would not cross.
Mathematics – his voice;
In the darkness of the State
the Organ had collapsed
Rest in peace, my friend.
You survived –
Even in our memories.

Yes, do check him out. He's more of a historian than anything, but he writes wonderfully, and greatly deserves to be remembered.
