Quick-tongued mastermind
silver squinted eyes-
shading the dream
of love’s illusion.
Painful words
spoken apart between the hearts
of mere mortal men.
Dissatisfaction?
In all living things.
To be alive - such a mystery.
Unbeknownst to his heart;
the soul’s desire
spilled forth from within
the twisted path
of his reality.

Very well writen. I noticed your profile mentioned your poetry doesn't rhyme. Well it doesn't need to, its called free-verse form. I think its the most widely practiced form of contemporary poetry and you use it to great effect here. Besides you do use some traditional poetic devices(more than most people ive read on this site)even if you arn't aware of it. For example the alliteration of "mere mortal men". The imagery is physical and yet elusive at the same time which reflects the whole "dark mystery" theme. I think its a great piece and look forward to reading more of your work.
