Unrequited

Poem By: DefinitionOfSoul
Poetry

This is the first poem I've ever written "forcefully," hopefully it doesn't seem that way.
The topic was "Forbidden Love."
Enjoy. : ) View table of contents...

Unrequited

Inquisitive
Unthoughtful
Peaceful sleeplessness
Their eyes deceive
Betray
My being exposed

My heart -
A space entirety
Unrequited love
Reciprocity
A lie we must believe
Forbidden love
This heart dare not feel
My mind dare not know
How our treacherous love
Began

My love –
Read me your favourite line
While we wait
Wait for their stuttering voices
To diminish in the night

Cruel awakenings
Our deepest desires
Painfully torn
From within
Our trembling fingertips
Forbidden desires
Our musings
Of past love affairs
The knives of death
Cold against my flesh
Forbidden love
Forbidden happiness.

That's nice, nothing forced that I see.
Those forbidden fruits are sure sweet.
Good stuff.
