Poetry By: Delilah Judd
Poetry

The poem is about a woman who thinks she doesn't need love, but surely everyone wants to be loved, right. . ?

She never appreciated the way he looked at her,

Or the way he was so madly in love with her.

She didn't want affection,

She didn't want attention.

She'd experienced too much to want love anymore.

She thought she didn't need it.

She thought she'd never ever want it again.

She thought love wouldn't last long,

And was unattainable.

But she didn't see the man who really loved her for her. . .

Who thought of her as a Princess. . .

Who treated her like royalty.

But she didn't like it,

Well, that's what she told herself.

Love is something everyone wants. . .

But she did not want it.

Because,

for only one reason,

She was afraid of that affection.

That comfort.

The trust.

That lust. . .

The love.

The love she was afraid of never met her. . .

He thought she wasn't interested. . .

And now,

every day,

she will regret her chance,

That she did not take.

All because of the love and the way she was afraid.
