Hammer to Fall

Poetry By: dibbledabble
Poetry

The passage of life is never easy and the path that one walks has consequences that can be difficult to live with. But so long as you’re a brave enough to accept and learn then hope will prevail.

This is a personal poem, and one I am very nervous about posting, however if I am not able to talk about my life choices, how am I ever going to help others through my experiences. All I ask is that you have patience’s with me as I go through this process.

Hammer to Fall

Have you ever waited for the hammer to fall?

Have you sat in the dark and wished an end to it all?

Have you crawled to the light, only dark clouds to blight?

Have you tried with all might, but still lost the fight?

Are you waiting for the hammerto fall?

Have you found yourself on the wrong side of the fence?

Have you cover it up and live in false pretence?

Have you left it too late before shutting the gate?

Have you learn to self-hate, is your ruin deliberate?

Are you waiting for the hammer to fall?

Have you fallen to your knees in front of your peers?

Have you begged of their mercy whilst shedding your tears?

Have you walked the thin blue line, burdened by your crime?

Have you climbed the rocky climb, but found you're out of time?

Are you waiting for the hammer to fall?

I have waited for the hammer to fall

I have done the above; I am guilty of them all

I have learned from my past, the misery it amassed

I have, my understanding surpassed, my shackles I have cast

I have accepted it all and for the hammer to fall.
