Plains of Mediocrity

Poetry By: dibbledabble

Without emotions what would we be, good or bad they keep us alive

Plains of Mediocrity

A malaise can creep

A thick soup of indolence surrounds

Apathy fogs the mind

Contemplation suspended by indifference

Lethargic eyes wide staring but not seeing.

Barely alive, floating in icy brain freeze.

Love, hate, passion, anger, irrelevant

A languid saline nullifying emotion.

Laying in a state betwixt contentment and torment

Don't venture to deep into the quick sands of melancholy

Sucking life's desires they consume the weak.

Before you slip unnoticed into mind numbing nothingness

Take heed.

Gather up your emotions set them ablaze in your mind and you heart.

Love, hate, yearn, desire, want, need, dream, scream, laugh, hug,

Shout from the highest place

I am alive! I feel!

Your armour of emotions will save you.

Express, create, partake in life.

You will not join the ghosts that drift aimlessly,

Without hope unable to know true love or the depths of despair

Spent souls. Existing but not living

Never to escape the plains of mediocrity.
