Sharp Tongues
.
The words slashed, cutting deep.
Thoughtless
Blunt as a hammer.
The knife so cleverly twisted
as to render the wielder innocent.
.
Indeed, they are righteous
Capitulation is the proof.
Dry mouthed, wet eyed
Inability is no defence
Deserved ineffectiveness
.
Deep cuts bare
Hammer blows hurt
Oh, the incisions and bruises
Fade quickly
But beneath the pain fester.
.
Bandaged in cruel words
Embalming in wretchedness
Buried in doubt, A half-life lives
Confused suppression exists
The meagre are vanquished
.
A clever tongue and wicked mind
Can drive a life to destruction
A poetic tongue and compassionate mind
Can guide a life towards fulfilment
Which carries more kudos?
