It Was Only "Me" You Couldn't Marry

-

I was just the flavor of the season to you

You're getting married, it's finally true

You were ready for love

Just not love from me

Nor for me

So the pain creeps up on me

I can't be loved by such a being

And I hold it against you

Even though

The blame has always been on me

Being too insane for thee

I love another, but I can't settle down

I can't afford to

Even if I get to

So I can't compete with what you have

I don't want you back

I can't imagine waking up with you instead

I hold so much anger

__between you and me

That you and I are history

The minute you walk down that isle

To that other man in your life

Will be all my nightmares coming true

Why I even ever loved you

Is still unclear to me

Maybe I only see that you were faithful

All along

__though I know you really weren't

I just know I fucked up

But did I deserve not to?
