Taking Pills

The nothingness scatters

All around

Numbness being made

My medicated noggin

Jarring up

__and suppressing

____any cognitive activity

No action bein' partaken

__on my part

Just empty headed me

For all of time being

But I have a pen

And it can uncover the blockage

__for me

Not undoing forgetting though

That is still what writing lacks

Until I am free from dissociating

__my good side

I'll be as blank-worlded as can be

With only songs from the good ol' days

That can ever bring a spark

Of memories

If only they did not hurt

__to remember

Even such goodness

But this is my present tense

Whether I like it or not
