i ask you lord to help me
please show me the way
shine light in the darkened corners
keep the shadows at bay .
men devastate in your name lord
killing and maiming is rife
we seem to have forgotten the message
god is the giver of life .
our political leaders send soldiers
to put their lives on the line
to enforce a political doctrine
as it has been since the beginning of time.
religious leaders spit hate dear lord
destroying the seekers of truth
promising martyrdom for murder lord
they infect the minds of our youth .
children die of starvation lord
corrupt goverments allow them to die
but one day the dictators will face you lord
i know you'll ask them why.
you've looked into my heart dear lord
you know my faith to be true
i will believe in you forever lord
only one favour i ask of you.
lonely people lose hope dear lord
so i beg you to give them a chance
to experience true love my lord
to believe in the power of romance.
