oh dear lord i love you
and i thank you with my prayer
for you gave me a happy heart
to carry you everywhere .
you made me a lover of people lord
and blessed my life with joy
i'm sure we can all get along
no more innocent lives destroyed .
for eventually we'll meet you lord
and on that fateful day
you will holdour hearts within your hand
to see how often we went astray .
i believe you will forgive us lord
when you see how hard we tried
to live together peacefully
and to bridge our faiths divide .
but those who stepped from your path
to hurt and kill and maim
will feel the vengence of your holy wrath
and will live eternity in shame .
you know my heart is full of hope dear lord
i know you still believe in humanity
thats why i have the happy heart
that you kindly gave to me .
