locked in her tower
the princess sleeps alone
this beautiful flower
kidnapped from her throne .
.
she stares at the moonlight
then drifts off to sleep
to dream of a brave knight
searching on his steed .
.
his searching is endless
his bravery he must test
he's in the chivalry business
and true love heeds his request .
.
swiftly with sword drawn
the black knight lay slain
the sun smiles on a new morn
true love wins again.
.
the knight removes armour
clambering bramble and vine
his heart beats of l'amour
and a lady divine .
.
as he climbs into her chamber
on soft bed his true love lies
and as he whispers to her
she opens her eyes.
.
she finds nothing alarming
her butterflies paint a scene
this is the prince charming
that has been filling her dreams .
.
his eyes speak of kisses
she feels just under her breast
of the love her heart misses
and of true loves caress .
.
freed from her tower
the princess regains her thrown
and true loves beautiful flower
no longer sleeps alone .
