if our fathers were our models for God and our fathers failed us, what does that tell you about God?

i have a hard time beating heart
understand me please
i never meant to cause this part
could we erase the scene
and change the lighting
it's like we're sand struck by lightning
frozen in our endless dance
till one or both of us collapse

and it's all, inside my head
somewhere crammed beneath
all the emptiness i've fed
myself to live for years
and years without a drink
and you're the kitchen sink
i hang my head on everything
but it's just a drip

and i am a movie even though
some parts get too boring
but don't fast forward cause you know
that i might have a story
and mom's TXL
Might make the heart feel well
but it stops the brain
from feeling anything

but it's all, inside, my head
somewhere crammed beneath
all the emptiness i've fed
myself to live for years
and years without a drink
and you're the kitchen sink
i hang my head on everything
but it's just a drip
