humor me and tell me that there is still love in beauty
that all the innocence hasn't been sucked from this world
that i'm living more than a lie as i feel it
that maybe someday i can wake-up and be born

and tell me that roses taste better than smell
I want to feel grace and eat color and be blinded by hope
but it's hard for me to grasp more than this poverty
staring at me always judging with open fist

and tell me the best caress in the world is from sandpaper
and that there's no feeling better than coating those wounds in salt
i will believe every word you say darling
for i am a teenager and the world has lost hope
