the trip was endless
the downfall complete
our heads were gourds
being tread on underfoot
we were stretched and divided
by gravity.
we were destroyed
yet we were shooting stars
burning out inside barren space
inside we screamed for a flame
to ignite ourselves and burn as stars
again.
we are hopeless
curled inside the womb
helpless children against the world
you are different to me says the light
come home you are not harmed notÂ
dying
and we stretch out
back in the old world
relieved to be home again
but always remembering our visit
and what it was like to be born and die in one day
slowly.
