My love was the west
I gave her my best
And I tried to get to her
But fell short
When she died she sang
A song to wake the dead
And the hills were alive
For a moment
In the city fake
Perched by the lake
I met a man who speaks
of forgiveness
He said son gorepent
SoI got up and went
But thechurches were allclosed
So I went drinking
And My mother rest her soul
Causeno one really knows
The power they have
Over children
I met a girl who cried
Until the day she died
And her tears could have filled
Up an ocean
She said boy don't you know
That I have shed a tear for snow
But no tears have ever stopped
The weather
Andinthe cityby the sea
My demons wait for me
They say you can run
But you can't hide
You can walk the street at night
While no one's left alive
But your shadow tho hidden
always follows
