I knew a boy
Who never left home without his
Rose-colored glasses
Secured
Til the world ripped them off
And every good he ever saw
Was crushedÂ
Underfoot
I knew a girl
Who said I want to be on TV
Just give me lights
Action now
She boarded a train
Spit on the ground and said
If they
Could see me now
Just stop
Thinking has consumed my being
And my nightmares
Are stalking me
That girl
Most beautiful in the world is nothing
She's a ghost, my misery
But if we could all be kings and queens
If we could all relive our dreams
Sometimes we need the rain
Sometimes I just wish you'd stay
Oh on and on
And I had a dream
About a life lived happily
My mother said
"Son where you been?"
Take off your shoes
They're worn and faded anyhow
You must've walked a ways
To get home again
But just stop
This thinking has consumed my being
I wish my nightmares
Would let me be
That girl
Most beautiful in the world is nothing
She's a ghost, my misery
If we could all be kings and queens
If we could all relive our dreams
Sometimes we need the rain
Sometimes I just wish you'd stay
Oh on and on
And I knew a boy
Who never left home without his
Rose colored glassesÂ
Secured
He dreamt of a day
When he could get away
Boy you're moving
Too Fast
