A facade we often hide behind.

A Façade

Helplessness, hopelessness all around

Trying so hard to be positive

But negativity soon

Overcomes and surrounds.

A Prisoner within four walls

Always chained;

Movements restricted;

Laughter suppressed;

Thoughts submerged;

Imagination curtailed;

Hope battered and bruised

Until it's buried to the core.

Heart weeps deep inside

But only happy facade outside

A façade - an eyesore.
