In this special place,
The wind stiffly moves around us,
It woosh-wooshes as it blows,
Tossing sand into the air.
We pause to listen to the sounds of the Outback-
The dry rustle of tumbleweed,
The crunch of desert road beneath our feet.
Some find this place too dry, too crisp,
But to us the symphony of nature is perfect.
In this special place,
Sents fill the air,
They gilde on the wind,
To fill our noses with sweet smells,
To warm our hearts,
With the thoughts that they bring.
Dust, salt, and sun,
They mix togeather,
To form a scent of their own,
To form the scent of home.
In this special place,
We can feel everything.
The wind against your back,
The gritty sand sinking into your socks,
Even the light tough of a fly,
As it pauses to rest on your arm.
But we dont just feel with skin and hands,
But with the heart.
Happiness, sorrow, peace, and love,
This desert strips your feelings,
To reveal what they really are.
In this special place,
The sun slips below the horizon,
Slowly it pulls itsself under,
Sinking, sinking, sinking,
Until suddenly it vanishes.
Darkness replaces it,
With the thin sliver of a moon,
Travels to its point in the sky,
And for kilometers and kilometers,
Stars twinkle above.
You and I, we walk side by side,
Down this long, winding road.
All is perfect,
In this special place.
